- Students who studied AS level and then went on to full A level lost their progress when they transitioned from an AS Only course to a full A level course. This is now prevented by students being on a combined AS and/or A level course.
- It is now cheaper per student (over the 2 years) when compared to purchasing vouchers separately for both year 12 and year 13.
- Above all, it's what most teachers have been asking for.
How does a combined course work in practice?
- The topic filtering has been extended from 20 to 64 topics. This offers much more granularity but has also enabled different topics for H046, H446 and both.
- The 1.2.3 Software development Testing topic has a minus symbol (-) indicating it is only suitable for AS level students. (This content is covered in the unit 3 programming project for full A level).
- The topics with a plus symbol (+) indicate that they are for full A level only. E.g. Pipelining+.
- The topics with no symbols are suitable for both levels of study.
Use the topic filtering to select the appropriate content for your students.
Considerations
The exam dates, flight paths and goals will assume that all students will be continuing onto the full A level course in year 13. Smart Revise will not count down to the AS exam dates.
