We get asked this question a lot, and unfortunately, it's not an easy one to answer.
Firstly, it's important to clarify that Smart Revise is not a subscription, but rather a single purchase per student per course. For example, if you purchase a GCSE course voucher for a Year 10 student, that course voucher will provide them with access from the date your order is processed right through until the final examination with no additional payment required during that period. You would only need to purchase another course voucher for that student if they transition to A Level.
Start date: This is the easy part. Smart Revise course vouchers activate from the moment we fulfil your order. You will receive an email to confirm when your vouchers are made available. Course vouchers purchased with a credit/debit card are activated automatically. If you have an invoice, the invoice date will typically be the same as the access start/fulfilment date.
End date: This is more difficult to quantify. Smart Revise courses always run until the final examination for that course has concluded. These dates are different every year and subject to change, but we typically use May 31st as the expiry date for GCSE courses and June 30th for A Level courses. Also, while students will no longer be able to access the course materials, teachers can access and download the associated data for several months after this expiry date has passed, so it will ultimately depend on your definition of "access".
All in all, there are too many variables involved for us to be able to give a concrete answer to this question. However, as a rule, access begins on the date of purchase and ends once the final exam for that course has concluded, whenever that may be.
