How do students make improvements to their marked tasks?
There are two approaches for schools that have DIRT (dedicated improvement and reflection time):
Option 1: Return the task to the student.
Option 2: Copy and set the task again.
Option 1: Return the task to the student
Any task can be returned to a student whether marking has been completed or not. Returning a task will not remove the original answers, but it will remove any existing marking. Once the student resubmits the task it will need to be marked again. If AI marking is selected and the task only includes AI marked questions this will not increase the workload for teachers.
Only the most recent mark will be saved in the mark book so this could go up or down.
Option 2: Copy and set the task again
Any task can be copied to create a duplicate task. Doing this will create a new task. Students can still see the old task in their mark book (if the teacher has released the marks), and this includes their original answers and the marking. The mark scheme will also be shown. Students might find it useful to put the original task on one side of the screen and the new task on the other.
Both the original mark and the new mark will be saved in the mark book.
