Enforce a deadline for a task

Enforce a deadline for a task

If you are creating a task and want to enforce a deadline, choose Deadlines enforced from the schedule section of the Task creation wizard.

Automatic submission for marking is triggered in one of two ways.

If a student performs an action on a task after the deadline (open, post answer, etc...), the action is prevented and the task submitted.
A clean-up job is scheduled to run shortly after the deadline to ensure any tasks not being actively used by students are submitted.

Please note: The task will expire based on the server clock (local time zones are accounted for) and not the clock on the client computer.

During busy periods, the clean-up job may take longer to complete - however, students will still be prevented from accessing the task after the deadline.
Individual task status on this page will not update automatically. Refresh the page to see the latest data.

As a teacher, you can still submit these tasks on behalf of a student if you wish to.

Students can still submit a task for marking themselves ahead of the deadline.
